January 2022 Newsletter (#6)

Hi ski race families,

General Programming update:

Photos below!

We are 2 Saturdays into our Shredders season and it is great to see all of the smilies and ripping young racers! Here is a link to a couple U8 videos with one of our new coaches Mark: Shredders Videos
It has not been an easy start to our season with the added challenge of Covid staffing issues. We recognize that it has been a bumpy start and we are working on having more backup coaches to fill in at the last minute if needed.

Events:

Our first U14/U16 race is this weekend at Red Mountain! This age group is racing within the Province and this will be their first interclub race since March 2020!

Current activities:

Follow your team on Instagram at Whitewater_Ski_Team_Official

I will try to put up a photo or 2 every week!

Upcoming activities:

These past 2 weeks our Shredders head coach Annette has been away building a World Cup Ski Cross course and working as a race official for the Nakiska Ski Cross World Cup. This is an Olympic qualifier for our Canadian athletes.

Annette is doing her best to balance her passions and we have her back with us now starting this Saturday.

Behind the scenes

We are moving to a new payment system for camps

Stay tuned for a Rockstar raffle update. This was a super successful fundraiser for our team again this year.

Also, Save-On grocery cards are another fundraiser that helps to pay for team equipment and coach wages. Stay tuned for more info.

Big thanks to our volunteer board for all the extra work they are doing behind the scenes this year!
