December 2021 Newsletter (#5)

Hi ski race families,

General Programming update:

Photos below!

Our first training camp at Panorama was a huge success. Amazing conditions, the hardest and most challenging snow surface that we have ever experienced. We are always looking for challenge so this was a perfect start to the season. Lori-Anne Donald our local Canadian National Ski Mountaineering team member joined us for some training and gave a presentation on the athletic process to our U14/U16 athletes. This town has some amazing hardworking athletes!

Events:

Shredders camps start this coming week! Register: Shredders Camps

There are three 2 day camps over the holidays for any of our Shredders kids. Our coaches will take the kiddos on adventures all over the mountain, share some technical skills maybe even share some training courses with the Provincial athletes if they get a chance.

We do need to have 4 kids of similar age in order to run, so tell your friends!

Big thanks to our new U14 coach Jackie Atkins for doing a great presentation to our older athletes on how to continue ski racing all through University in the NCAA program. Photo below.

I will try to put up a photo or 2 every week!

Upcoming activities:

Our team is back to training at home this weekend! And it looks like that training will be on their powder skis! Whitewater always has the best snow and there is lots more on the way.

Make sure you stop and say hello to the athletes and coaches. Your young Shredders are always welcome in our courses!

Behind the scenes

We are moving to a new payment system for camps and other team events. This will streamline this process both for you and for our amazing team of volunteers.
