Shredders Program, Nancy Greene Ski League

Nancy Greene Oso 2018

The 2022/2023 season saw a successful return to regional events, including the Shredders Festival held at Whitewater. The stoke was high all season as our shredders competed and had fun while developing into strong, well-rounded skiers. Whether working on using edges on groomed runs or skiing power in the trees, there were smiles all around. We can’t wait for more of the same!

Programming for 2023/2024 will build on last season’s success.  The focus will be on fun, fundamentals, teamwork, and challenging oneself in competition. Shred the whole mountain with us this season!

U6 Shredders

Half Day – Age 5 (birth year 2018)

“Ski racing for the fun of it!” is the slogan for the Nancy Greene Ski League and describes the goal of the Shredders program. Through games and activities, young skiers develop confidence and skills with ski-buddies. Groups generally consist of 6-8 skiers per professional certified coach and one parent volunteering each week as a tail-gunner. U6 skiers and their families will be introduced to the thrill of racing at other local mountains in the West Kootenay. The races on this exciting circuit are free! The racers participate in the race as part of a team and are not ranked individually. This is a friendly, non-competitive introduction to alpine ski racing. Everyone wins!

All skiers must wear a helmet with “hard” ear covering. No other specialized equipment is required. All parents are expected to volunteer during the season with fundraising initiatives in addition to events such as races hosted by the Whitewater Ski Team.

Program runs Saturdays. Morning session 9 – 11am or Afternoon session 12 – 2pm. We will do our best to accommodate your preference for am or pm but can offer no guarantee.

Program fees, early bird pricing: $490 + $106.08 BC Alpine fee.
