Nancy Greene Oso 2018

U6 and U8 – Half Day – Ages 5 to 7 Years (birth year 2011-2013)

“Ski racing for the fun of it!” is the slogan for the Nancy Greene Ski League and describes the goal of this program. Through games and activities, young skiers develop confidence and skills with ski-buddies. Groups consist of 6-8 skiers per professional certified coach and one parent volunteering each week as a tail-gunner. U6 and U8 skiers and their families will be introduced to the thrill of racing at other local mountains in the West Kootenays. The races on this exciting little circuit are free! The racers participate in the race as part of a team and are not ranked individually. This is a friendly, non-competitive introduction to alpine ski racing. Everyone wins!

All skiers must wear a helmet with “hard” ear covering. No other specialized equipment is required. All parents are expected to volunteer during the season at events such as the race hosted by the Whitewater Ski Team.

Program runs Saturdays. Morning session 9:30-12:00 or Afternoon session 12:45-3:15. We will do our best to accommodate your preference for am or pm but can offer no guarantee. Cost: $325 + $76 BC Alpine fee.

U8 and U10 – Full Day – Ages 6 to 9 (birth year 2009-2012)

Skiers continue to develop their confidence and skills in a group of peers with similar ability. They will gain experience racing gates, but will also have lots of fun skiing pow and exploring the terrain at Whitewater. Skiers and their families are encouraged to attend races at other mountains in the West Kootenays. These races are free!
