General Programming update:
Wow, this is the last weekend for our regular Shredders programming! Skiing with this team is an amazing experience in so many ways. Our team of 100 kids and 16 coaches is as diverse as the community we live in and we are all here to share our love for sliding down mountains. Thank you all for sharing this experience with us! Mike Janyk, retired Canadian ski racer and program director for the Whistler team, says that “we coach technical and tactical concepts and concepts are not skiing. Ski concepts can only be pointers, guiding someone to feel more deeply the essence of skiing.”
Events:
Sunday March 13th:
Shredders Festival this coming Sunday and all athletes will be on the start list!
All participants will be with their regular coach and Shredders groups will meet at the regular morning times of 9:45 and 10:00 at the team sign.
5 events: Ski Cross, Distance Jump, Speed Trap, a fun dual and Super G course. We will be training for this on Saturday.
Each athlete will receive a certificate with name and accomplishments from the day!
This event requires fun volunteer positions at each station. No experience necessary! Volunteer sign up for Festival event
Saturday and Sunday March 26/27th:
Kootenay U12/U14 Zone Finals! We are hosting over 100 athletes from other clubs for the end of season GS and Slalom race!
We will need some extra help with volunteering. Volunteer sign up March 26/27
Current activities:
Our U16 group is at Sun Peaks for a 6 day Provincial event! 2 days of Super G, 2 days of GS, 2 days of Slalom. Wow. Photos of course inspection and coming home at end of long days.
Our U12’s travelled to Golden for a 2 day race with GS and Ski Cross. Photos attached.

Our U14 athletes are preparing to travel to Vancouver for U14 Provincials at Grouse Mt.
It is really great to be travelling again. Looking forward to all ages travelling next year!
